Besides the land cable routes, most of the Internet connection capacity from Vietnam to the international is currently through 5 undersea cable routes including APG, AAG, AAE-1, SMW3 and IA. However, in 2022, three undersea cable routes, AAG, AAE-1 and APG, respectively, have encountered problems and have not yet been fixed, affecting the quality of Internet services of carriers in Vietnam.

Specifically: AAG encountered problems in February 2022 and June 2022 on branch cables connecting to Hong Kong (China) and Singapore. AAE-1 is an undersea cable that has been put into operation since July 2017, AAE-1 plays the role of improving connection quality towards Europe and the Middle East as well as providing additional capacity and redundancy to the direction of AAE-1. connecting to Hong Kong (China), Singapore also had a source detection error at the end of November 2022 on the S1H segment of the cable line.

Most recently, on the morning of December 26, 2022, the APG international undersea cable also encountered a problem on the S6 segment near Hong Kong (China). APG has a length of 10,400 km, located underground in the Pacific Ocean, capable of providing a maximum bandwidth of up to 54 Tbps. This cable route is invested by Vietnamese network operators and is considered as a cable route that contributes to bringing a stable transmission line with a larger capacity for Internet users in Vietnam.

The incident with the above-mentioned undersea fiber optic cables has greatly affected the service provision of telecommunications carriers to consumers. Particularly for HTC-ITC, these problems have also partially reduced international Internet connection directions. However, HTC-ITC has managed to maintain international service quality in a timely manner by leveling the load through many redundant directions, especially on land-based connections, quickly regulating and optimizing traffic. on international IPLC directions.

Up to now, the quality of service provided by HTC-ITC to customers is always guaranteed to be stable, in all IPLC directions, there is no network congestion causing quality loss.

Existing undersea cables connecting Vietnam to the world have been invested for many years, the quality has been degraded over time, the density of incidents is increasing, the time for maintenance, handling and remediation of each problem. Problems usually last 4-6 months, even 1 year or longer. Therefore, HTC-ITC has long had plans to minimize the impact on undersea cable capacity.

In parallel with the above sea cable routes, a large part of the international traffic of HTC-ITC is being routed on international routes on the mainland through the northern and southern border gates connecting to Hong Kong. , Singapore. The cable directions connecting on land, in addition to the main direction, are guaranteed from 2 to 3 redundant connection directions. Therefore, the service quality is always maintained stably, there are no service interruption incidents.

The company also has proactive monitoring and warning systems for Internet quality in international directions, so as soon as there is an incident on the undersea cable direction, the automatic warning system will notify the bottlenecks and potential points. The delay is increased causing quality loss. As a result, the Company timely adjusts and ensures that it does not affect the network service and Internet experience of users as well as fully capable to meet the requirements of quality and stability of information related to the Internet. contact, connect to the Internet during peak occasions, holidays, Tet.…

In addition, HTC-ITC always maintains a reserve of international internet bandwidth in the form of burstable of major domestic and international partners, ensuring that it can be put into use immediately. , keeping the quality of service stable when there is an undersea cable problem.

In the future, HTC-ITC will continue to have strategies to ensure international telecommunications connectivity infrastructure, meet the explosive development of technology services, as well as be ready to move towards Vietnam’s capabilities. become a regional data hub.
