On the morning of February 21, an Internet service provider in Vietnam said that SMW3 had a cable problem, occurring at the S2.7 segment to Singapore. This is the last cable line intact after the incident with four Vietnamese undersea cable routes from November 2022 to January 2023.
Thus, all five undersea cable routes connecting Vietnam to the world have encountered problems. Previously, two routes AAG and APG had lost all capacity, while two routes IA and AAE-1 had only partially operated. Fortunately, the two routes AAE-1 to Singapore and route IA to Hong Kong are still connected.

However, it seems that this cable break does not affect international Internet traffic in Vietnam. A representative of a network operator said: “This does not affect the quality of the Internet because this is an old cable line, which is expected to be discontinued and we do not use the capacity of this route for fixed broadband Internet services. determined”.
